Visual Arts Building

A work of art made of light and metal

The four-storey Visual Arts Building at the University of Iowa has been clad with a new zinc and perforated stainless steel facade. This innovative building, designed by renowned Steven Holl Architects, impresses with its unusual design and functionality. Cleverly placed incisions and openings in the building envelope direct natural light deep into the interior. This well thought-out design not only creates an inspiring atmosphere, but also gives the building its unique character.
