Volpe

A facade dedicated to transportation and technology

The architecture of the new building envelope is intended to make the Volpe Center's research focus visible: Transportation and Technology. An outstanding feature of the facade are the vertically aligned sun protection strips made of powder-coated aluminum manufactured by POHL, which are reminiscent of the wings of an aircraft. They allow plenty of daylight into the building, but prevent direct sunlight and glare.
